Treatment Approaches
Therapy is not one size fits all
The foundation of my therapy style is person-centered and eclectic. Person centered (sometimes called client centered therapy) focuses on creating a supportive, nonjudgemental space for self discovery. I typically interweave different modalities of therapy into session based on the client, I do not follow a rigid structure of worksheets and homework (although we may explore some things for you to work on outside of session). My approach focuses on deeper emotional exploration of unconscious patterns and developing emotional regulation skills that align with your therapeutic goals.
Modalities
-
Brainspotting
Work through trauma and emotions without having to talk about it! Brainspotting is a trauma-focused therapeutic approach that uses eye positions to access and process unresolved emotional experiences stored in the subcortical brain. By identifying "brainspots" linked to distress, clients can process trauma on a deep neurological level, promoting healing and emotional regulation.
-
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness-based approach that helps individuals accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than struggle with them, while committing to values-driven actions. By integrating acceptance, cognitive defusion, and behavioral change, ACT fosters psychological flexibility, enabling individuals to live more meaningfully despite challenges.
-
Internal Family Systems/Parts Work
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy sees our minds as made up of different "parts," like different voices or feelings that each have their own job. In IFS, we learn to listen to these parts, understand their needs, and help them work together so we can feel more balanced and at peace.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and unhelpful behaviors. By learning to reframe thoughts and adopt healthier coping strategies, clients can develop more positive behaviors and improve emotional well-being.
